AWAKEN: Documenting Humans' Relationship with Technology and Nature

"AWAKEN is a documentary film exploring humanity’s relationship with technology and with the natural world."
The upcoming documentary, directed by Tom Lowe and produced by Terence Malick, was shot over a 5 Year period in over 30 countries, and uses timelapse, time-dilation, underwater and aerial cinematography techniques, allowing audiences to see the world with a new perspective.
It will be interesting to see how far it pushes the tension of technology vs. nature but even from the trailer, the contrast of tranquil nature to cityscapes, indigenous to modern culture, analogue to digital... evokes the many changes that technology has had over life on Earth, and the costs.
"AWAKEN is a celebration of the spirit of life, an exploration of the Earth, and an ode to the Cosmos."
